Forest Hills is located between Connecticut Avenue and Rock Creek Park. Both communities are served by the Van Ness-UDC station of the Washington Metro Red Line. The area, which is about less than five miles north of Downtown, is characterized by 1920s apartment houses, beautiful townhouses and large single family homes. Small retail areas provide for the daily conveniences, while larger shopping centers, like the Mazza Galleria, are just a few Metro stops away. The population of Forest Hills and North Cleveland Park is roughly 15,000.

Local points of interest include the University of DC's Van Ness campus and Howard University's Law School. As with all of DC, public education in Forest Hills, North Cleveland Park and Van Ness are provided by District of Columbia Public Schools.
